Not living His way are we?
Hey I'm sure most people have heard of the Tsunami that recently took place just off the shore of Malaysia and Phuket. Heres some extracts I've found:
Jayanti Lakshmi, 70, had gone shopping with her daughter-in-law in Cuddalore, southern India. Ms Lakshmi returned to find her son and twin grandsons dead in their hut.
"I wish I had died instead of the others, my daughter-in-law would have a life. I can't bear to watch her pain," she said.
Up to 1,000 passengers are dead or missing from a train that was flung off its tracks by this week's massive tsunami, police said, as workers on Tuesday cremated or buried bodies from the twisted wreckage.
All New Year’s Eve dances at major hotels in Colombo have been cancelled, following the disastrous situation prevailing in the country.
British tourist Alex Dee in Phuket told Sky News: "It was total devastation. People were running up to the jungle and mountains, basically running for their lives just trying to get away from the water."
"I've lost my granddaughter in all of this. I was swept away by an absolutely massive wave. . . I was lucky enough to get stuck in some trees and was able to hold my breath," he said.
"My sister and her husband are in the Maldives. We are all so worried. Let us all pray that God is watching over all those involved," Nikkie Robinson, of Dover in England, told Sky News.
Its said recently on Sky News that the current total death toll is a massive 55,000 people.
I've been looking at all this and following it over the last couple days and it sure makes one think, I mean was this God or Satan's doing, and why there? Those were my 1st 2 questions. To think that God let this all happen or even made this happen is something I find hard to grasp since He loves us so much.
My mind then jumped to think but it was in Sri-Lanka and India and those places, aren't those predomently muslim countries, so maybe God wanted to get rid of a "few" people. I don't know, it just sucks when you read articles like these of peoples whole houses gone and family members all dead and they are left on the beach with nothing but a costume and towel, thats it, there whole life gone in a matter of minutes.
The last major "disaster" that shook the world was the September 11th attack and boy did that cause a stir, it sure did in my home. Look at how many people died there and now look, 55,000 and counting.
One of the stories that amazed me was the one of the guy who managed to hold on to a tree and he said he managed to hold his breath while the wave crashed by.
This event hurt alot of people and an interesting comment I read was, "The lucky ones are dead" whether you believe in luck or not is not the point, I tend to agree with it, I mean really what are left with when everything you have is destroyed? If this had to happen to you and you were left on a beach with a costume and towel and nothing else is that everything gone out of your life?
They say that you can take everything away from me except my mind and memories but is that enough to carry on your life and not to look back? I dont believe so, Jesus Christ would be your only person left to turn to, the only person to speak to, the only reason to keep living your life.
Thank you, if you got any opinion on this saga at all you can comment or email me.
You're so right at the end of your post about turning back to Jesus because he would be the only one left to turn back to.
As for why God did this no one can really see all the pictures of the puzzle of his plan except for him. Personally I think that all this is leading closer and closer towards the end times, but it could also be God's way of getting missionaries closer to the ones that are hurting, the ones who normally would ignore might now be willing to listen. Who knows for sure the reason why. God is infinitely smarter than us tiny little people.
