Driving a Formula 1 car...

You know sometimes when you do something, not out of the ordinary but just a “good” thing that yo should be doing or whatever as a Christian we should be doing. You do it and nothing really happens, like you are kind to someone and they don’t really appreciate it or thank you in anyway.

You just shrug it off and think; oh they’ll get it one day.

But have you ever actually done one of those “nice” things and that non-Christian or Christian, or whoever actually stops everything and turns to you to thank you for what you did. I mean we don’t expect it and then it comes and we like “huh? O sure anytime”

I think that its opportunities passing us by and we just aren’t ready so we don’t know what to do. We don’t experience them ordinarily so we are in a sense inexperienced.

The problem is how to overcome that inexperience? Only way is to experience it more and more, till we get used to what it is and can dominate from then onwards.

So what we need to learn is to be able to take those opportunities when they arise, I mean we pray for them all the time, and sometimes don’t even expect them to happen.

They happen, oh yes they do, I’ve experienced it first hand, and its not that hard really it isn’t. We don’t have to search the depths of the earth to find them, usually they are right under our noses and we never pick it up!

And it sucks it really does, we just have to open our eyes as wide as humanly possible, and still its hard. So what to do?

For me I have many things going on in my life and often neglect those little things and I think that I have “more important” things to do.

So naïve we are. There are people out there who don’t know who our creator and saviour is? You know that? You better because they better not stay that way. What do you plan to do about it?

What do I plan to do about it? I don’t know really, mr cynical does it again. Minus one point to me, as usually looking in the wrong direction, not realising what we should be doing, we often completely loose the plot, we are still on the right path but just standing still.

We need to be on the right path, driving a formula 1 Mclaren car ahead of the pack, going for gold. Im serious we need to know what we are doing, where we are going, and constantly re-check ourselves for errors, faults and mistakes in all becoming like Christ is no easy deal.

If we are planning to be like him in the future we better start changing ourselves in the present.

2 Cor 5:17 therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature, old things will pass away and behold all things will become new.

Keep that in mind till next time.
