Emosions running wild - again

You things happen, people change, you change for the better or worse it doesn’t matter we are all still changing to sum degree. I change you change we all change, it’s a not-so-vicious cycle going round and round again.

As Christians we should be changing to become more like Jesus, but sadly sometimes that does not happen. Whether we know it or not, people can see it. People who know us: our friends, family they see it.

I’ve experienced change in my life before and looking back most of it is good, growing deeper with God everyday, but of course there’s bad habits, bad behaviour, bad conduct and we try not to notice but sub-consciously we do and our spirit isn’t happy and silently convicts us and we back on our path, so that’s all hunky dory isn’t it?

The problem is emotions. Yes emotions, by getting too involved or too implicated in something we forget what the right things to do, and our discernment lacks tremendously. Our soul does consist of emotions which aren’t all bad, love etc, but when you take in out of context or out of play, we tend to forget.

It seems to happen with us a lot, we get too involved and bam we get burnt over and over again, and our flesh just laps it up and we want more, more, till we get to a place where there is no way out and we don’t have a choice but take the situation head on.

Maybe we can fight it on our own! Maybe we can overcome it ourselves! Maybe we can use it to our benefit! It can’t be bad what I’m doing right? I mean I’m having fun so what’s the harm?

Gee that’s what I used to think, boy was I wrong. And ouch does it hurt when the realisation hits, and you start to see things from a different angle, outside the box. We start to see the bigger picture and start to see how badly wrong we were going.

We then gotta try get out of it on our own which again doesn’t work, and we just make things worse. We then just start going back to front in the opposite way, in the reverse backwards order, and that not so good.

Only until we can actually realise what we are doing wrong can we fix it. I didn’t realise what was going on until too late, and got burnt in the process. So we have to watch how far we go into things, relationships, activities, contact etc. the thing is not to see how is too far. But how can I glorify God in what I’m doing.

And whatever you are doing, you should try to glorify God by doing it. So if we do something, and we are not sure, then we must think: does this make my Jesus proud or disappointed? If you are unsure it would probably be the latter. But then we think what about those situations when we really aren’t sure we should take an outer perspective and look from say your best friends angle, how would they feel if they found out what you did?

Angry, disappointed, sad, miserable, depressed, let down, upset, irritated, annoyed, cross, offended, troubled, saddened, disturbed, bothered, anxious.

Just some of the many things I would not like my friends to look at me and think those sixteen things. It would make me feel broken inside.

Brokenness? Well its simple, Gods will is not for us to have broken relationships, build on shame, melancholy and misery. But He wants us to be excited, loving, happy, joyful and content with what we have.

So you have brokenness somewhere in the areas of your life? I do. we all do somewhere, we just have to look.

1 John 3:22 ”Whatever we ask, we shall receive, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.”

If he is not pleased with what we do, we shall not do his commands, as a result we shall not ask and consequently we shall not receive.

I want to challenge you to look at the things you do, day in day out, big or so, so small but it still counts, involve God in every place in your life and you will be rewarded. Glorify him and praise his name and most of all give thanks for the amazing things He has done in your life, as He has in mine.
